Appointments & Visits

Do I need a referral before seeing a physiotherapist?

In principle, patients do not need a referral to see a physiotherapist as physiotherapists are considered first-line practitioners.

However, some lower-tier options provided by certain medical aid funds may require a referral letter from a doctor. Please check with your medical aid fund before contacting us for an appointment.

What are your hours?

We are open Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. We are closed on weekends and public holidays.

How do I make an appointment?

We prefer patients to book via the www.bookem.com platform or call +27 12 343 9722 during office hours.

After placing an appointment request in our Bookem Diary, you will receive a confirmation SMS as soon as we confirm it. Please click on the link in the SMS and populate the Google Form with your personal information. If you are unable to complete the form via the SMS link, you can complete the forms on-site — please allow 15 minutes before your first appointment for this administrative process.

Before your first consultation, you will receive another SMS from Bookem with directions via Google Maps.

Cancellation policy: We prioritize punctuality. Appointments can be cancelled on 012-343 9722 / 083 415 2008 / grobler.physio@gmail.com with more than 24 hours' notice. Cancellations within 3 hours of the scheduled time (without a valid excuse), or failure to attend without notice, result in a cancellation fee of R800 (Code 72117, modifier 0001). This fee is not recoverable from medical aids and remains the patient's personal responsibility.

What should I bring to my first session?

Please ensure you bring the following items:

  • Your medical aid membership card
  • Proof of identity: ID / Passport / Driver's license
  • Physician referral forms and recent x-rays or relevant records (if available)

How long is a treatment session?

On average, treatment sessions range from 45 to 60 minutes, depending on the individual patient's needs and the complexity of their condition.
